How do we do it

We work with early-stage inventors and businesses developing marine and aquatic technologies, particularly those seeking technical validation, product development, or entry into new markets.

There is no one-size-fits-all approach. Aquatic Dynamics operates in an evolving sector where scientific credibility, market readiness, and regulatory context must be aligned from the outset. We provide consultancy that works across disciplines, combining applied science with a clear understanding of what the market can adopt, fund, and deploy.

Our role is to bridge the gap between concept, evidence, and application — shaping technologies so they are technically robust, commercially credible, and clearly communicated to the right audiences.

When leading the development of a new technology, Aquatic Dynamics assembles project-specific teams drawn from a trusted network of scientists, engineers, manufacturers, and delivery partners. These teams are formed around strategic fit and technical need, ensuring the right expertise is applied at the right stage of development without imposing a fixed or generic structure.

We engage through a range of models, including paid consultancy and selective equity or share-based agreements, depending on the maturity of the technology, strategic fit, and long-term objectives.

Our Team

Max Morgan-kay

Founder - Principal Consultant

a Plymouth university-trained marine biologist with experience spanning marine monitoring, nature-positive infrastructure, and applied environmental technology.

He is currently lead consultant to multiple organisations developing blue-economy technologies, and co-owner of an ecological contracting business delivering habitat-led projects on the ground. Alongside this, he is CEO of a grassroots aquaculture network focused on bridging private companies, NGOs, and academia to support low-impact, regionally appropriate aquaculture.

Through Aquatic Dynamics, Max brings together scientific rigour, delivery experience, and cross-sector coordination to support the development and deployment of marine technologies.

Join Aquatic Dynamics

Aquatic Dynamics is open to individuals interested in helping build early-stage marine and aquatic technologies from the ground up.

This is not a salaried or day-rate role. Work within Aquatic Dynamics is structured around shared risk and shared upside. Contributions are rewarded only where the technologies or ventures involved succeed, through equity, revenue participation, or other success-based arrangements aligned with outcomes.

This opportunity will suit someone who is comfortable operating in uncertain, early-stage environments, motivated by building new technologies, and willing to invest time and expertise in return for long-term value rather than guaranteed short-term pay.
